Slate is 2 months old and like 10 lbs. He will quickly outgrow 0-3 months because he is so long.
Uncle Brad and Aunt Hannah with another great Christmas gift a digger and Stone quickly let Brad know he was too big to be sitting on it.

Slates arrival

On Oct. 19th I woke up to the feeling of my son about to crawl out of my belly. I instantly knew something was wrong and at 2 am I started packing my bags for the hospital. We called Tadvick at 9 and his nurse told us to go to labor & delivery. We hung out and got the fluids checked then they sent us to ultrasound and we got to see Slate he was doing great. Tadvick didn't want to send us home but didn't want to start a c-section too early so he sent us to Mayberry for another sonogram. Because of in-vitro I have seen Mayberry every 2 weeks just to check on Slate. When I weighed in I said my normal I hate to be weighed and the nurse laughed. To my surprise I had lost two pounds I was not as unhappy at that point. So Dr. Mayberry comes in does the sonogram everything looked great so I am prepping myself to go home when he measures Slate. He says 5 lbs 12 oz. I said wait a minute that is what we were last time. He looks at the chart and to his surprise it was the same. Stone was the same way when I was pregnant with him that is why we delivered him early. Dr. Mayberry calls Dr. Tadvick and then I get the call go home get your stuff and come back we deliver in the morning. I was scared and excited but at the same time a little sad. Greg and I and Stone were all born on the 19th and tomorrow is the 20th. I was not going to say a word I said ok and was going to get something to eat and I got the call. The OR was booked in the morning I had 45 min. to get my stuff and come back we were delivering at 4. Wow what a rush so we run home and grab some stuff and back to the hospital within 20 min. I was in the OR and within 10 min. Slate was born. Wow what a rush they take him and clean him up I go to the recovery room and I sit and I wait and 2.5 hours later I tell the nurse I am about to walk out of here to go see my son and why is he not ready. The hold up was Slate he was breathing so fast and he couldn't stop so they had him hooked up to 3 monitors and I really didn't know what to think at that point I couldn't hold him and he was in a warmer box. Because he was born at 36 weeks and 6 days he was a little too small his heart was working way too hard and they were trying too get him to eat and he didn't want to so they put in an IV to feed him. For the next 3 days I went to the NICU and held him for one hour at a time and then they would kick me out I could come in every three hours. It was a long three days. Then we went to the other room where he was taken out of the warmer to see if he could hold his temperature but still hooked up to the monitors his heart beat was progressively slowing down so that was a good start. Over the next five days I would go and feed him every three hours and then they would kick me out. I went home on Sunday night so I would go back and forth to Hendricks from the office. I might as well do some work if I can't hold my son. I did not know that holding a baby made them burn calories so we are still trying not to handle him all the time until we see La Masters on Friday. After 5 more days we finally got to bring him home he had to pass the car seat test I didn't know about this either one hour in a car seat if they are born before 37 weeks. He passed and we got to go home finally. Big brother is back to his normal self and we are adjusting to life with the 4 of us. Our trial is friday Slate has to have gained weight by friday so we have been trying very hard to get him to eat 2 oz every 3 hours we have not accomplished this yet but it is getting better.

After promising Stone a trampoline for a few months today we broke down and bought him one. He jumped all night and then we sat down and looked at the starts .
We gave Aubrey & Jett a shower it was lots of fun and Jett got some great stuff. I was a little busy so I didn't get any other good pictures except of the Hostesses. Can't wait to see the adventures Slate & Jett will have in the next few years. They will be a month apart and Ava Kate & Stone are 1 year and 2 days apart. This adventure has been fun watching our kids grow together.
Soccer well we like soccer and we are good at soccer when we want to be. Sometimes we like to shoot birds or kids or play in the dirt or chase our friends. My anxiety does not do well with this. Everyone says it is the age and I pray they are correct.

We started soccer this week and as cute as the cleats and shin guards are my competitive nature might just get the best of me over this.. We are the purple team and we will see how it goes.

Stone dancing on stage for Grandparents day fun at St. Johns. Stone got to eat lunch with Meme & Drain Drain and we all got to watch his dancing on stage I must say he really enjoyed it.
This week was dress like your Grandparents day so boots and jeans and a hat about covers it for both his grandfathers.

We have had a fun and wild summer. First for our dogs Hunter has a huge tumor in her throat and they can not fix it so about once a month we think today is her last day. Well happy to say she is up and going for a run with Harley and I everyday. Now Harley got bit by a rattle snake and well you can see how it went. Stone has been to lots of B-day parties and has had lots of fun. We start St. Johns on Tuesday I am so excited his teachers sound great and the aide in his class was one of his teachers last year at Aldersgate. Plus Hailey and Grant are both in his class so this is going to be a fun year.

Yes baby # 2 is another boy I am so excited. My invitro doctor said it was a boy at week 13 and she was correct. So Slate Beckum McMinn will be joining our family on Halloween if not before.

We are so thrilled to finally be sure it was a boy this one was a long road with all the surgeries but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This is a picture of all my embryo's I do have three left they are frozen in Lubbock. So here is our story. In July I was ready to thaw out our last embryo that had been frozen for three years from our in-vitro with Stone. I knew it might not be the time but I was ready, and it is funny how God doesn't really care what you want because he knows what you need instead. So we thawed it out and it made the freeze only like 30% make it. We implanted it and waited 11 days we got the call and I was not pregnant I was crushed I didn't want to go through in-vitro again but guess what that wasn't the half of it. We went back to Lubbock to find out what to do next the story was I had baseball size cyst that was full of blood on my left ovary. Who knew that was suppose to be very painful? So we came home & scheduled surgery to have my insides drained and scraped. One month later I was ready to start in-vitro the bad news now is my cyst is back and it is now the size of a golf ball. So back on the pill for two months the cyst would not go away. Dr Dorsett said lets ignore the cyst and only use your right ovary and see what the medicine does. I took really well to all the meds with Stone so we were positive it would be great. In Feb we retrieved my eggs and I had 15 wow no wonder I looked like a balloon. After 6 days under a microscope Keith picked one perfect embryo that looked just like Stones did and we implanted it. After 13 days we got the call we were going to have another baby. We feel so blessed to be able to go through this process and we were thrilled Stone was going to be a big brother. He asks me everyday to see the baby and how big it is. This time it was a long process but so worth it. I know God always has a plan for us he does not say the journey will be fun he just says it will be fruitful. I know that infertility is becoming more popular and it is harder to get pregnant everyday many of my friends have been through the same situation. I have no idea what we will do with 3 frozen embryos we don't want 5 kids but this time when God is ready to tell us what to do with them I will be ready to listen.

At age 3 I was known to run out the front door cross two streets so I could go to Kristi Moore's house and play. Then my mom would run down the street to see if I was at Kristi's because I was not suppose to be crossing streets obviously or leaving the house.
On Fri. I was in our bedroom on the phone with sudden link when I walked into the living room Stone was nowhere to be found. I glanced at the back door it is unlocked I am on the phone still. I look at the dog run the gate is wide open so I know he has let Hunter out. I walk out past the gate that is 100 ft from the back of the house to find my 3 yr. old on this skid loader. SO the good thing is his daddy does not leave the key in the skid loader. If I had not been on the phone I would have blistered his bottom but because I was on the phone I said we do not go outside without your mommy or daddy and he quickly responds but I put my boots on...... Wow payback is what they say.

This is my disclaimer: If Greg knew I posted these he would die but he never looks at this so I am ok. The house is coming along we have moved in but we are not finished so this is a few pictures for those of you have asked for them. The kitchen we need to stain the cabinets so we can bring the rest of our appliances in.
Stone's room: no that door should not be in this picture. Wish I could get a good picture of the ceiling Susan came in and painted the ceiling with glow in the dark paint. We all lay in the floor at night and look at the stars. Stone loves it I had her put his name on the ceiling and the little dipper and some shooting stars. He has about 1,000 stars on the ceiling.
The living room the fire place is not finished and you can see Greg cut a pattern in the floor that will be a different color.

This is the hallway going into Stones room and his carpet. Our home is getting closer to being finished and Greg's vision is all coming together he has gotten a lot of slack for how long this project has taken. But the end result will be worth it. I pray we move in a week or so I have started moving a few things so I can see the end. More pictures to come.

Gramps & Stone last Thanksgiving. This year I am thankful for family Glenn went home to be with the lord Thanksgiving morning he had been suffering from cancer and some other problems. We will miss him so much but we are Thankful for the 83 years that we were honored to love him. We will always remember him and love him. We all know this life on earth is not forever and he can party in heaven with his brother & his parents we love you Gramps and you will be greatly missed.

Gigi's Halloween tradition homemade donuts. We ate way too many donuts and at about 8:15 Stone was a sleep in the car. I would say it was a fun day and he got to spend most of the day with Daddy and they had so much fun.

Mr Stone you amaze me everyday. You learn so quickly and you are so funny. You have finally given up your poppy except at night time. You did not want to and still ask your mommy for it daily but funny that you wont ask anyone else if you can have it. Secretly I loved poppy as much as you did and it weren't for people pulling it out of your mouth and telling you that you were too old to have a poppy. Mommy would have let you keep it forever.
For all you Red Raider fans guns up we don't care either way.
This is part of our cowboy costume for Halloween now if he will wear it that is another story. Stone is not into dressing up but he sure likes to shoot his guns so we will see come Halloween.

We had a great 4th in San Marcos, San Antonio and finished it off with a bounce house and the lake and the sand box at The Fraziers in Buffalo Gap. We got to see Uncle Brad & Aunt Hannah and we did a lot of shopping I know you are shocked.

Stone is talking up a storm so I have a few words and funny things he has said lately and I don't want to forget how cute he is. He is now 28 months and the best one yet is...

My dad's dump truck is at our house so every morning as we drive by he says Bobby's trailer at Stone's house.

On our way to work we look to see if the fire station door is open he says" door open" then he will respond with ah man nope door closed or alright door open two fire trucks. This is one of my favorite times of the day.

We have been playing a lot of soccer and we might be left handed I am not positive but I think so and his daddy is very excited about that.

Any time I ask Stone where he wants to go the answer is Sam's. Why because it is next to the train tracks and it is next to a concrete company and they have concrete trucks and trailers. SO these are the fun things we are doing this week.

I am not sure how we got blessed with such a wonderful little boy but we did and he makes everyday a better day. I love how he is growing into such a wonderful little boy who loves to say his prayers at night. We will begin swim lessons on Monday and I am extremely excited to see if he loves to swim. He loves to jump in but swimming is something new. I think he will love it.

I am much more excited to say Stone is 26 months than to say I am 31 but I guess I will get over it. A friend of mine said aren't you glad to be in your 30's because when you say I am 30 people say your still young but now I can say I am in my 30's... Kristi I am not digging it. So my day started out early at work and then lunch & gifts always Chick-Fil-A and dinner at my moms it is my tradition and I don't like to mix it up. I am very predictable when it comes to my one day.

I stole this idea from a friend of mine it is a picture of all the important women in my life and I think it is really awesome to see all the generations of hands in this photo and one special little boy.

Greg got me a bunch of hand blown glass balls I am not keeping all of them but he is going to build me something special out of them in our new house. After putting Stones nikes in the dryer two times in one day I decided we needed rain boots.

Lunch on Mothers Day in Mommy's car with Daddy. Greg was in the hospital for an allergic reaction to some medicine so they did not want Stone to come up but they said Greg could come down. Not idea for Mothers Day but he did get to come home that night.

On our way to work everyday we pass the fire station. Stone loves fire trucks and every time he says mom op (open) will the door be open so we can see the fire trucks or not! If they are closed he says minute yes they will open the door but we will be at work. Now he says all closed or nope door closed so cute. So Greg and I took him to the fire station so he could sit in a fire truck & he loved it.

We have signed Stone up for a summer program at Aldersgate & mothers day out in the fall. They had a spring fling so we crashed the party to see if we liked what we saw. And as you can tell I think he will love it. Ask me about lunch time & nap time & I am not so sure.

He did not like the horse but Daddy made him ride it.
Meme went to Canton & brought home a bubble gun & he loves it.

He is such a great little boy he is going to be 2 in March & his mommy's temper is starting to shine through. I guess they don't call it the terrible 2's for nothing.

We had a great 2009 and we expect 2010 will be just as great Happy New Years.

Every year we have 4 Christmas's before 1:00 and I dread it every year. I am so wrong this year this was the best day, we had so much fun all day. Stone was a champ with no nap until 6:00. Wow is all I can say. Greg and I dated for 3 months before he proposed. We were engaged for 5 months before we got married. Now we have 2 dogs and the best gift of all we have Stone. What a wild 7 years it has been but I wouldn't change it at all. I must say you are the best Daddy I know. If you want to get me a gift you could cut your hair to look like this picture..... 19 Months

This was a first I went to take Stone's monthly picture in his chair he wanted the camera and took my picture. I just got done running so I am a little pink. Wow how the time goes so quickly we love every minute with this little guy. Such a big miracle from such a little boy.

Look sweet Gram I can drive.
We had lunch at Gram & Gramps house on sunday and then we had lots of fun looking at the tractors and the cows and throwing rocks. Now the rest of this story I am so in trouble for telling but here goes. We are looking at the tank and throwing rocks but we are about to go to the house when sweet gram slips. When I say slip I am talking 4 foot down a cliff through two trees onto a rock covered in brush. Greg tries to grab her with Stone in his arms. Greg hurts his thumb Stone hits his head on a rock and is screaming and I am frozen like a snowman. I grab Stone & Greg's phone I can not get anyone to answer for help so I take Stone we go get the car he is still screaming Greg is helping Gram who is the toughest person I know. She is wearing slippers and has just taken a hard fall. When I return to get them she has crawled up the rocks and is coming to the car. She is scratched up and bleeding and she says I didn't know I was going rock climbing... I am so amazed she is so tough. Tomorrow I am sure she will be sore. We took Stone to the doctor his head is fine he has a cut and a bruise and he has gained 2 lbs in the last six months 21 lbs yeah and Greg is ok but Gram is the real tough person in the story. I think her angels were flying fast today and I am thankful for that.
